Lessons in Modularity from Amazon and Costco Facilities

Through the review of two large scale, award winning architectural supply chain projects and the interaction of the buildings function and form the resulting character can be applied to varying design typologies. The review of the Amazon Delivery Station in Honolulu, focusing on the impacts and applications of technologies, will develop a baseline for implementation in commercial spaces, while the review of a Costco Distribution facility's modularity of design and human operations will develop an understanding of human work in a developing AI world.

Adam Louis, RA, AIA, NCARB

Adam Louis is a Washington State University graduate with a Master of Architecture and nine years of industry experience. He is a licensed architect in Washington and Oregon and leads supply chain small projects for MG2’s Costco account. Each spring, he mentors students in WSU’s Interior Design studios.
