About the event

As healthcare designers, we have an opportunity to rethink what behavioral health care can look and feel like beyond the traditional clinical setting. This presentation explores how thoughtful design can connect behavioral health recovery to the broader community, creating spaces that feel welcoming, dignified, and human rather than institutional. Through trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and evidence-based strategies, we will explore how flexibility, connection to nature, wellness, and opportunities for social interaction can support recovery while reducing stigma and strengthening a sense of belonging.
